ALICIA KEYS
Alicia's always been a color-out-of-the-lines kind of a girl. Classical piano and hip/hop dont usually mix, but she makes it work. We predict other artist will jump on her crossover bandwagon, so dont forget she was the first.
SINGLE: "Fallin"
CD: Songs In A Mirror
HOMEBASE: New York City
SHE'D BE ON TOUR WITH: Fugees (reunited), D'Angelo, and Erykah Badu. "Can you make that happen?" laughs Alicia, 20, "That would be so hot."
WHY HER SOUND IS SO ECLECTIC: "I grew up listening to R & B and hip-hop with my friends and then going home and practicing Beethoven," says Alicia. "So my music has the hard hip-hop vibe, rawness, and truth. Plus, a couple of cuts have classical interludes. It's a real fusion."
WHY SHE'S GONNA BE BIG IN THE BIZ: "I wrote, produced, played, and arranged every song on the album." says Alicia. "I'm totally hands-on, and I wouldnt have it any other way."
BLISS 66

Rob Harbin, 21 (guitar)
Don Patty, 20 (bass)
Cheyenne Goff, 19 (vocals)
Bob Cook, 19 (drums)
Aaron Schossau, 23 (guitar)
Jordan Barnett, 19 (keyboards)
SINGLE: "Sooner Or Later"
CD: Trip To The 13th
HOMEBASE: Detroit
CALL HIM CHEF CHEYENNE: "Our music is pretty much straight pop-rock," says lead singer Chayenne Goff. "But I put in a lot of different kinds of flavor, even if it's just a bit of salt on the platter."
WHY THIER FIRST SINGLE WILL SELL: "It's in-your-face catchy, a lot of hooks for your dollar within hte space of three minutes and 30 seconds," says Cheyenne. "It's got aggression, but it also has a bit of laid-back mystique."
HOW THEY PROVED THAT OPPOSITES ATTRACT: Cheyenne is a city boy who loves hip/hop and rock. Guitarist and co-songwriter Aaron Schossau is from suburbia and listens to Top 40. "There's that kind of butting of the heads, but it works."
CRAIG DAVID
Girls, make room on your bedroom walls; there's a new poster boy in town-Craig David. With his sexy attitude and smooth British pop sound, he and his music are hard to resist. And we admit we're suckers for his hot British accent, too.
SINGLE: "Fill Me In"
CD: Born To Do It
HOMEBASE: London
PROOF THAT LOSING DONT ALWAYS SUCK: Even though he didnt win any of the Brit Awards he was up for, Craig wasn't upset because U2 played his hit "Walking Away" during the show. "I couldn't belive that Bono was performing one of my songs" says the 19 year old. "He burrst into it after doing 'One' and I was like 'Oh my.' It was such a memorable night."
WHY HIS TUNES ARE LIKE CHOOSE-YOUR-OWN-ADVENTURE BOOKS: "I dont always put an ending on them," Craig saiys. "That way, you can follow the song to a certain degree and then finish it in your own way."
ONE REASON HE LOVES COMING TO THE U.S.: Ben & Jerry's ice cream, especially Phish Food. "You've got flavors over there that we don't have in the U.K. And you've got Ben & Jerry's shops!"
